The company
Founded in Berlin in 2015 (originally as eMio, rebranded emmy in 2017), emmy pioneered Germany’s first free-floating, fully electric moped sharing: seated e-mopeds you find and unlock with an app, ride within a city zone, and leave anywhere inside it. emmy manages battery swapping itself and puts two helmets on every vehicle, so riders get the upside of electric mobility with none of the charging.
The challenge
Running shared mopeds at city scale is an operations business: keeping thousands of vehicles charged, available, and legally parked across Berlin, Munich and Hamburg, and doing it reliably enough to stay the category leader as competitors came and went.
On Wunder Mobility
emmy runs its shared-moped operation on Wunder Mobility’s platform, from the rider app through the operations tooling its field teams use to keep the fleet moving.
The results
emmy operates around 3,000 shared e-mopeds across Berlin, Munich and Hamburg for more than 300,000 registered riders. After being acquired by mobility group GoTo Global in 2021 and absorbing felyx’s German fleet in 2023, it is consistently described as Germany’s leading shared-moped operator.
