The company
CarVia was founded in Munich in 2017 by brothers Joschka and Julian Reik with a simple mission: make owning your own car unnecessary. It offers one app that spans spontaneous carsharing, classic rental, and flexible subscriptions, with a fleet skewed to premium and electric models, from Teslas and BMWs to Porsches.
The challenge
A premium fleet raises the bar. Shared, high-value vehicles across several cities have to be bookable, unlockable, and billable from a phone as smoothly as an economy carshare, while spanning three different rental models on the same platform.
On Wunder Mobility
CarVia runs its shared and rental fleet on Wunder Mobility’s platform, giving it one system for booking, keyless access, and billing across carsharing, rental, and subscription.
The results
CarVia now operates across Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Berlin and more. It was an official mobility partner of IAA Mobility 2023, runs an exclusive BMW Welt partnership in Munich, and in 2025 joined the city of Munich’s station-based carsharing programme in public street space.
