As online transactions grow, so does fraud, and regulations like PSD2 require stronger authentication on online card payments. The hard part for operators is meeting that requirement without making the payment experience clunky. SCA configuration does both.
How SCA configuration works
- Activate SCA. Turn it on in your back office and set the payment-authentication rules so transactions comply with PSD2.
- Authorize at registration. Riders authorize their payment method during sign-up; if authentication fails, they choose another method.
- Customize the prompts. Tailor the language and style of the authentication prompts riders see, to match your brand.
- Connect Stripe. Copy the webhook URL from your back office into Stripe and select the relevant events.
- Integrate your apps. If you run your own apps, implement the API for the rental and registration flows and embed a web view for member-area authorization.
The result: you meet the regulatory bar and protect transactions against fraud, without a payment experience that sends riders away.
